You may explore the amazing world of feature drops without having a Google Pixel phone. All you need is an Android phone or device to receive frequent (almost quarterly) updates that include new capabilities, such as this one, within the apps you use. This is one of those days when everyone using an Android device can join in the fun.

At least nine new features, including those related to Google Messages, Android Auto, Google Docs, Health Connect, Spotify, Wear OS, and more, are being released by Google for Android.

GEMINI ATTACHES GOOGLE MESSAGES:

Given that Google is only interested in talking about Gemini these days, this is most likely the largest new feature. That’s right, Gemini and its AI intelligence are now available in Google Messages as a contact that you can message to find out more about restaurants, pick up new jokes, compose messages, schedule events, and more.

Initially available in English only, the new Gemini function is being rolled out to Google Messages in beta. Registering for the Google Messages beta is available here.

ARTEMIS AUTO GETS AI TEXT RECAPITULATIONS:

In keeping with this AI theme, Google claims that while you are driving, Android Auto may automatically summarize lengthy texts or crowded group discussions for you. Of course, it may also provide suggestions for responses or activities, allowing you to do things like offer an ETA for your drive or rapidly answer with a single tap.

FITBIT GET CLOSER AND HEALTH CONNECT:

Google seems to be expanding the Fitbit app’s functionality beyond simple Fitbit services. According to Google, the Fitbit app will begin to display data from other fitness or health applications that are linked to Health Connect, providing you with a location to track everything.

The Fitbit app’s “You” page has a lot of this data from other applications, and the “Today” tab may include steps, calories burnt, floors climbed, or other fitness metrics. Today, Google made it clear that AllTrails, Oura Ring, and MyFitnessPal are initially supported.

APPEAR OS ADDS WALLET PASSES, DIRECTIONS FOR TRANSIT:

As part of this feature drop, Google is introducing a few things to Wear OS. The first is the ability to send information from Google Wallet to your wrist. You no longer need to open your phone to locate boarding passes, event tickets, or loyalty/gym cards. Indeed, it should imply scanning QR codes or barcodes with your watch.

The other is instructions from Google Maps on your wristwatch for public transportation. In addition to being able to get transit instructions on your wrist, view departure times, and receive compass-guided navigation directions to your destination, you can now access directions on your phone and mirror them to your watch.

HANDWRITTEN MARKUPS GOOGLE DOCS :

A heavy user of Google Docs with frequent editing? As you go over things again, you may utilize markup tools to take handwritten notes using your finger or pen on your Android phone or tablet. That’s cool.

THE UPGRADED MEDIA SWITCHER ON SPOTIFY:

You know how YouTube Music has this awesome media switcher that allows you to rapidly shift music anywhere in your house by tapping and selecting from all of your devices, right from your lock screen or quick settings? Now Spotify offers the same feature. According to Google, you may activate this feature of Spotify Connect by swiping down your notification panel and pressing the media output button to switch between devices.

This should enable you to select gadgets such as TVs, headphones, smart speakers, and your phone with ease.

ADVANCED SCREEN READER IN GOOGLE LENS:

By utilizing Google Lens in Google Maps, you can now aim your camera at the area and Talkback will read details about the location, such as reviews, operating hours, and directions.

LOOKOUT IMAGE CAPTIONS:

Lastly, Lookout for Android now allows you to hear automatically created AI captions for photographs, images from the internet, and other images. This is growing in English around the world.
For those of you who are interested in AI and Gemini in particular, this sounds like a very excellent list of new goods.

We’ll be sure to notify you as soon as we get more precise information on the launch schedule for each.
