Almost 10% of South Korea’s workforce now consists of robots.

The country had 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees, topping the global list, according to a new survey

In factories, the use of robotics has collectively grown more than double within the last seven years. South Korea tops all countries regarding the number of robots employed relative to its human workforce; it has achieved a phenomenal average of 1,012 robots for every 10,000 employees. A high density of robots generally reflects a robust commitment to adopting industrial robots in manufacturing processes.

China has more than 37 million employees in the manufacturing sector, yet it did not get the top position in robot density rankings in 2023 after Germany and Japan.
This would suggest that a high number of employees does not guarantee a country’s progress in presenting automation technologies. However, China has grown considerably to become an important country in the field of robotics. Following these countries states Singapore with its advances in technology and manufacturing.

With 429 robots per 10,000 employees, Germany ranks fourth among nations worldwide. This statistic speaks volumes with respect to the successful integration of robotics into its industries. Japan follows closely with 419 robots per 10,000 employees as it continues to pursue its goal of productivity gains through automation activities. At number 10, the United States ranks among the highest with a robot density of 295 robots per 10,000 employees. Although the United States is picked up, it has not embraced anything close to the other countries worldwide.

In the global market, an average robot density of 162 robots per 10000 employees was estimated in 2023. It is a great growth rate compared to seven years back, indicating the tendency of the world towards increased automation in production industries. This has ushered about new developments in factory setups, which use robotics in implementing manufacturing. The entire environment of manufacturing is being changed with efficiency and techno advancements in several nations.
