Bluesky has celebrated the addition of a video tab into user profiles through which users have access to all the videos they have posted, including original and shared videos. Such a change is part of Bluesky’s roadmap to breathe more life into video.

The new video tab’s rollout follows the rollout of Trending Videos on mobile, a near-identical social media recommendation format to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.

In addition, Bluesky is putting finishing touches on several ambitious video features that will pose a true competitive threat to TikTok. These new tools are based on the AT Protocol and are now on a beta stage for selected users only.

The latest update, version 1.97, includes a series of improvements. It makes it simple to block other users on who have written to you, which should enhance user convenience and sadaavihyst’s ability to transfer communication in the user experience. Other additions are the translation features, which should also make it that bit easier for each user to scope something in a given language.

Last but not least, plans are being taken seriously on Bluesky’s possible disruptive act against TikTok. In case TikTok is indeed what comes to be banned, Bluesky might choose to follow suite. In all these movements, the company clearly seeks its way into the competitive arena within the social media, hoping to attract users pleased with the video products.
