Elon Musk: Rockets to Replace Airplanes?

Musk says his dream of rocketing passengers across the world in under an hour on the Starship rocket is “now possible” after Donald Trump’s re-election.

Musk is also working to promote a new form of travel within the organization referred to as “Earth to Earth” travel – which as Musk explains – entails global flights that are launched from one point like a rocket and arrives at any point on the globe in a few minutes of time regardless of distance.

According to Musk, the revolutionary idea of moving people around the world aboard a rocket called the Starship in less than an hour has come to a realization, more so after the victory of Donald Trump in the elections. The Starship itself measures 395 feet in height and is made of stainless steel and is built to orbit the earth. This novel concept would condense long international flights into what would feel like a snap of a finger.

Nonetheless, the trip will not be any easier than the other ones. Those traveling will have to brace themselves for the G-forces during take off and landing. In fact, they will be expected to stay seated and strapped because of the zero gravity effect that will be experienced on the flight. Space X has even gone to the extent of proposing that tourists might as well recline and hang on during atmospheric re-entry and exit for their birthing and return journeys.

There has been a lot of media attention surrounding this initiative given its scope but particularly social media, most especially X, where viewers have shown their support. Some even went as far as to suggest that if Trump were a president then he would ensure that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) would expedite the approval process for him. If all goes according to plan, Musk’s Starship, like the Russian Concorde, would not only be a faster means of travel but also an aircraft that could transport individuals within the globe in minutes instead of hours.
