This guide talks about what smart glasses can do and how they’re different from Ray-Ban Stories. We also talk about the styles that are offered, the better sound, and the new features, such as live streaming and AI integration. Read our guide to learn everything you need to know about Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.

WHAT DOES RAY-BAN META MEAN?

Ray-Ban Meta is the newest pair of smart glasses made by Ray-Ban and Meta. Because Stories was so popular, Meta added more features to Ray-Ban’s smart glasses. By making people spend less time on their phones, they want to help people live in the present. How? Ray-Ban Meta combines the smart tech you want with the real world, letting you both enjoy and record it. That means you won’t have to pull out your phone to take a picture or walk around with your head down to type a text. This smart tech lets you livestream on Facebook and Instagram as well as record videos and take pictures. To take it to the next level, it has an AI helper built right in. You can talk to your friends, get help from AI, listen to music, take pictures and movies, and do other things without using your hands.

Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses can take pictures and videos.

The glasses have a 12 MP wide camera that takes great pictures and records 1080p movies. The Ray-Ban Stories had 5 MP cameras, so this is an improvement. It’s easy to film in low light because the camera adapts itself to its surroundings. One second of video can be recorded at a time. Voice commands make it easy to send pictures to family and friends in your contacts.

HELP! I HAVE RAY-BAN META smart glasses. How do I record videos and take pictures with them?
To take a picture, press the button on top of the right head once. When you want to record, tap and hold the button. When you’re done, tap the button once. You could also use your words.

PHONE CALLS AND MESSAGES

Voice command lets you make and take calls without using your hands. You can also use your hands-free mode to send texts on WhatsApp and Messenger.

HOW DO I USE RAY-BAN META SMART GLASSES TO MAKE CALLS?

To answer and stop a call, double-tap the touchpad on the right side of the temple. To turn down a call, tap and hold the touchpad. You can make and take calls hands-free by saying “Hey Meta, call [contact name].” When you get a call, say “Hey Meta, answer.”

HOW DO RAY-BAN META SMART GLASSES SEND MESSAGES?

You don’t have to use your hands to send texts through Messenger, WhatsApp, and Google Texts. Saying something like, “Hey Meta, take a picture and send it to [contact name or group chat name] on [messaging platform name]” is a simple way to send a picture. Before it sends the message, Meta AI will check to make sure that the contact name and chat site are correct. For iOS iMessage, you can use voice commands to write notes, but you have to send them from your phone by hand.

STREAMING LIVE

You can livestream to Instagram and Facebook right from your glasses. Show both POV video (what your glasses see) and footage from your phone. Take the case of a cook who is livestreaming herself making a cake. You can use the camera on your phone to record yourself talking to the crowd and then switch to the camera on your glasses to record your hands making the batter. Commenters can also be heard through the glasses, making it easy to connect with them in real-time.

HOW DO I LIVESTREAM ON META SMART GLASSES?

On your phone, go to the live streaming area of Instagram or Facebook. There is a button on the right eye that you can double-tap to switch between the camera on your phone and the camera on your smart glasses. Hold down the temple to see what people are saying.

OPEN-EAR SOUND

There are two open-ear speakers on the temples that are covered and provide high-quality sound for making phone calls and listening to music and apps. Better speakers give you a more realistic sound experience that doesn’t bother other people. The open-ear style lets you hear what’s going on around you for safety, and the sound quality is great.

The glasses have five digital mics that can be used for recording and talking on the phone. Noise from the wind and other outside sources can be drowned out by spatial sounds.

A SPOTIFY TAP

This app works with Spotify, so it’s easy to listen to podcasts and play your favorite songs.

HOW DO RAY-BAN SMART GLASSES AND SPOTIFY TAPTM WORK TOGETHER?

To play or stop, tap the temple pad once. Three taps will take you back to the last song. Two taps will skip a song. You can change the sound by moving your finger along the touchpad on the head. It’s also possible to run Spotify with your words.

AI META

Want to know how to fix a bike tire without using your hands while you’re out on the trail? Want some tips on how to improve your driving range golf swing? If you say “Hey Meta” and then a question or prompt, Meta AI will answer you both audibly through the temple speakers and text in the app. You can look at your questions and the answers later, favorite them, give them to someone, or remove them from the app. Meta AI can only be used in the US right now, and voice orders must be in English.
