Hardware for the iPhone SE 4 May Include Apple Intelligence Support
iPhone SE 4 Hardware Might Feature Apple Intelligence Support
Apple Intelligence represents the most significant enhancement for iPhones this year. However, due to its advanced hardware requirements, it will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro models. The upcoming iPhone 16 series is anticipated to support Apple Intelligence as well, and there are indications that the next-generation iPhone SE may also incorporate AI capabilities.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned that the iPhone SE 4 will likely be equipped with Apple Intelligence at its launch. As previously speculated, this budget-friendly iPhone SE could debut as soon as 2025, rather than later this year.
What chipset will drive Apple’s next iPhone SE?
While this news may come as a surprise, it implies that the next iPhone SE could be equipped with robust internals to support a variety of new generative AI features.
According to widely accepted information, Apple Intelligence necessitates an A17 Pro chip and at least 8 GB of RAM for operation on iPhones. This suggests a strong possibility that the new iPhone SE will have hardware specifications akin to the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 16, which is expected to feature the A18 chipset.
Alongside improved internal features, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a structure reminiscent of the iPhone 14. This marks a significant shift from the 2022 iPhone SE, which had a more dated appearance. Additionally, there may be a transition from an LCD to a superior AMOLED display. With the integration of Apple Intelligence, the iPhone SE 4 has the potential to be the most cost-effective option in the budget iPhone series thus far.
To maintain a lower price point than standard iPhones, Apple might opt for less advanced components, such as a single rear camera and a reduced water-resistance rating, among other adjustments.
Nevertheless, the pricing for the 2025 iPhone SE remains uncertain, as it is unclear whether the inclusion of Apple Intelligence and hardware enhancements will lead to a higher price than the current iPhone SE, which retails for $400.
