iPhone 16: When Could Apple Release Its Next Model?

iPhone 16: Here's When Apple's Next iPhone Might Break Cover

Although Apple has not released an official statement on the iPhone 16 event, it is generally assumed that it will follow the same schedule as the iPhone announcement from the previous year, which would likely indicate a September release window. Even the potential release date of the iPhone 16 (Pro) was constrained by a recent rumor.

When is Apple expected to release the iPhone 16 (Pro)?

To do this, the writer even identified September 10—a Tuesday—as the most likely day on which the Cupertino corporation will reveal the iPhone 16 series. Notably, Apple has historically held its iPhone events on this day.

It would not be shocking if the iPhone 16 pre-order opened the same week as the presentation, even if the precise availability after the announcement was not disclosed. The new iPhones will begin shipping at the same time and arrive a week later.

In addition to the new iPhone models, Apple is expected to unveil the Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3 at the same event as the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.

At debut, the Apple iPhone 16 will not include AI.

The iPhone 16 might run on iOS 18.0, as Gurman also reiterated in his story from last week. This means that the new iPhones will not be able to utilize the full suite of Apple Intelligence capabilities when they arrive. The fact that Apple only included a few new generative AI features in iOS 18.1 lends credence to this. October is when the latter upgrade is expected to be published.

Regarding the hardware upgrades in the iPhone 16, it is reported that both Pro models will have upgraded primary cameras, with the ultra-wide sensor moving to a 48 MP resolution for the first time. Furthermore, the Pro variants can feature somewhat broader screens. The normal iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, meanwhile, could retain their outdated 60 Hz refresh rate and panel sizes while getting a revamped rear camera module.

The new A18 (Pro) chipset, which was promised to provide a significant improvement to machine learning capabilities to support generative AI features, would be the focal point of the next iPhones’ internal architecture. All iPhone 16 models—aside from the Plus model—may have more RAM and larger batteries.
