Is Your Personal Data on the Dark Web? Enable This One Google Setting to Find Out!

Is the Dark Web Using Your Personal Information? Turn On This One Google Preference to Learn More!

Your information may already be being traded by hackers! Google now provides free dark web monitoring so you can quickly determine whether your passwords, phone number, or email address are compromised. Don’t wait until it’s too late; safeguard your identity and regain control before thieves use a few clicks to launch an attack!

How to Use Google’s Dark Web Report:

  1. Adjust Google Account Settings: Go to your profile, select “Manage your Google Account,” then click on “Security” in the left-hand menu. Scroll down and enable the “Dark Web Report” feature to start monitoring.
  2. Run a Scan: Head to the Google One page and click “Run scan” to check if your Gmail is exposed on the dark web.
  3. View Breaches: If your email was found, you’ll see how many breaches it’s been involved in.
  4. Explore Results: Review all breaches tied to your email by clicking “View all results.”

What to do with your Dark Web Report results

Change any compromised passwords right away, starting with the website where they were stolen and any additional websites where you have used the same password.

Create a new, private email account for crucial tasks like banking or personal data to keep it safe if sensitive information, like your email address, is compromised. All websites, but notably your email, should have active two-step authentication.
