Meta Shares Tips on How to Grow Your Threads Presence
Meta hosted a creator-specific session recently, in which the tech giant shared practical tips and bits of information that would help creators increase their presence on Threads. The tips are;
- Post regularly and engage with your audience in replies
- Join ongoing conversations by replying to threads that resonate with you to reach out to more people and potentially convert them into followers
- Jump on trends and share your thoughts on cultural moments, pop culture and current events that are likely to be top of mind for your audience
- Use a topic tag in your posts to make it discoverable by people who search that topic or tap the tag from another post
- Experiment with content formats to identify what works best for you and your audience
The application has so far gathered 200 million monthly active users; it yet remains quite behind other leading social media apps, and specifically X, its main competitor in terms of real-time social updates, having around 500 million monthly active users. While that number is a far cry from what Instagram boasts, Threads is growing, as seen by its increased ranking in downloads and overall appeal to certain niche communities.
Growth for Threads doesn’t come without its set of challenges. The cautious approach Meta has taken toward political content has decidedly shaped user engagement on the platform, which has become increasingly important with the US Presidential Election race underway. Where political conversation can drive social media traffic, this resistance might make the platform less inviting for potential users. But as X starts to see a decline in users, it would appear that Threads is holding the attention of more users and thus likely to reach the total number of users on X sooner.
