Neuralink is the latest focus of Elon Musk’s exciting news. With the most recent implant received by a third individual from Neuralink, the entire brain-computer interface company that originated in the mind of this gifted man is truly doing wonders in connecting human nervous system directly to machines.

The company is making improvements to its systems continuously and has undergone gradual evolution since its first implant in the brain just 12 months ago. Recent devices boast added electrodes, and their bandwidth has increased to make the devices even more powerful and able to transfer far more data. They also have longer-lasting batteries that are designed for use and efficiency. But that’s not all. Neuralink intends to put on trial by implanting these devices into approximately 20 to 30 more individuals over the next year.

Out of the beneficiaries, the second one has suffered an injury to the spinal cord, having spent time in activities such as playing video games and using CAD software to build threedimensional objects. The great potential of brain-computer interfaces to greatly enhance life for people with disabilities is illustrated by such achievements.

More-than 45 trials ongoing as far as brain-computer interfaces are concerned. These trials would involve treatment of many brain disorders as well as recovery from brain injuries and other prospects. Human controlling the computer cursor effectively using the interfaces merits demonstration by research labs.

In fact, Neuralink has succeeded in winning the crowd out of two primary reasons. To begin with, the company is the first to utilize a robot for the operations necessary in implanting its device completely inside a human brain. While the insertion of electrodes takes place remotely, flexible electrode threads are placed in the human brain to record brain activity and control external devices. Surely such innovation would change the future of brain-machine interaction and usher in new therapeutic and technological possibilities.
