On iOS 18, some owners of iPhone 16 are reporting severe battery drain.

Some iPhone 16 owners are suffering severe battery loss with iOS 18.

Indeed, the battery life for both Apple’s iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro has been receiving very hot complaints, with evidence accessible through the official forums of the company and several discussions on Reddit.

Complaints have mounted from many users, who’ve identified that this began back when the software of iOS 18 was at its beta testing stages. Though all had hoped it would get fixed by its official release, that’s not yet happened, thus making owners of these gadgets increasingly agitated.

Among the issues reported, phone users cite rapid loss of their device’s battery power even when left idle, or while doing simple tasks like listening to music. This rapid draining of batteries has raised eyebrows, making many take to online posts, sharing their experiences. Surprisingly, the iOS 18.1 beta has been found to solve the battery problem for some.

The battery problems, on the other hand, are not experienced by all users of the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro. Some users experience no problems whatsoever. This is indicative of a mixed response with regards to the issue. The situation is thus similar to other bugs when new iOS updates occur. Normally, such issues get sorted after a follow-up software update. The steps that Apple needs to take now are to find the root cause of these battery life issues and work in the direction of a solution that will satisfy all users.
