During the afternoon of Thursday, many of the people who use Apple devices reported having problems when using iMessage.

According to the outage tracker Downtector, as of just after six o’clock Eastern Time, there were over 13,000 iMessage disruptions that had been recorded.

Users have complained that they have received a notification that reads “Not Delivered” while using the application. Others stated that they were required to send a text message that was not sent over iMessage and instead included a green bubble.

Around 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, the online System Status tracker provided a brief statement indicating that iMessage was experiencing a problem.

Unfortunately, USA TODAY was unable to get in touch with Apple for comment; however, the firm said that the problem had been rectified at around 7:30 p.m., noting that some customers were unable to utilize this service today between the hours of 5:49 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.

Reactions from social media

The users soon rushed to social media sites to share their experiences of being unable to utilize the communication platform due to technical difficulties.

On the social media platform X (which was formerly known as Twitter), many people shared memes that joked about their instant impulse to check social media to make sure they weren’t the only ones who were unable to use iMessage.
