Popular Instagram meme requests that ChatGPT denigrate your account
ChatGPT "roasts" your feed as part of an Instagram story competition that has garnered over 300,000 participants.
An Instagram challenge that has attracted over 310,000 participants invites users to request the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT to critique their posts humorously.
This challenge, known as “ask ChatGPT to burn your feed in one paragraph,” uses an Instagram story template some users liken to a current version of chain mail. After seeing the template shared in others’ stories, users can easily reshare it or take on the challenge with a simple button click.
To partake, users must download the ChatGPT app and send screenshots of their Instagram profiles along with the prompt “roast my Instagram feed in one paragraph” to receive funny and rude comments about their posts.
The developed roasts can have phrases like “trying too hard to be spontaneous,” “generic dude at party vibes,” “the LinkedIn of Instagram profiles,” “like a midlife crisis,” “a chaotic scrapbook,” and “a Pinterest board that ran out of ideas.” The chatbot provides specific and humorous critiques based on the images shared.
After receiving their roasts, users can share the text along with screenshots of their profiles through the template.
This challenge is exclusively available on the mobile app and requires participants to have ChatGPT accounts, as it cannot be executed on a desktop.
In addition to entertaining memes, Instagram story templates have also been effective in disseminating political messages, such as the “All Eyes on Rafah” template, which featured an AI-generated image and was shared over 30 million times in May. Anyone can create an Instagram story template, and the ChatGPT version was developed by a German “bookstagram” account that has not responded to inquiries.
ChatGPT was the pioneering AI text tool that ignited significant investment and innovation in the generative AI sector. Following its success, Meta introduced its generative AI tools but has faced challenges in user adoption.
This trend keeps one of the initial important instances of such engagement.
AI picture filters, or AI-generated photos, have become a major trend on social media in recent years.
