The release of the Apple Vision Pro 2 with M5 Chip might not occur until 2026.
Apple Vision Pro 2 With M5 Chip May Not Launch Until 2026
In a more recent edition of his “Power On” Newsletter, Mark Gurman has given additional information concerning the next gen Vision Pro which is the second generation of the VR headset by Apple. Gurman asserts that this headset will be chiefly for the house: A certain new head set will utilize an M5 Chip which remains undisclosed.
Other reports suggest that this gadget is still in its developmental stages and is scheduled for release sometime between fall of 2025 and the spring of 2026. This situation resembles another earlier claim by a supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who also claimed to announce Vision Pro 2 which was also two years ahead in planning but with an M5-chip, which integrates capabilities of Apple Intelligence.
The current Vision Pro device features an M2 Chip that was introduced in 2022. The company assesses that ‘M6’ chips will already be on the market by the time the second edition is out. It would however be worth noting that the Vision Pro of the second generation is not expected to have very major departures in its external design. However, according to a report by The Information, Apple wants to “do in much more of the first generation”, most of the parts being reused with minimal changes.
As he addressed the new headset, Gurman said, though, that the company had also assigned its personnel to explore opportunities concerning smart glasses and performed target audience assessment as well. This also entails product lines such as Snapchat Spectacles and Meta Ray Bans, which enable users to take videos and phone calls, and listen to music. This made Gurman even think that Airpods could be crafted by Apple in the form of stylish eyeglasses.
All in all, second generation Apple Vision Pro is expected to perform better as there are going to be considerable improvements made on the internal system.
