WhatsApp is evolving with a significant number of updates to enhance the way one can message each other and express creativity within chats. One new feature allows a user to merely double-tap a message to react to it.

The long tap-and-hold action has been removed from the process. This update aims to make reactions snappy and user-friendly. To ease things further, there is a floating palette showing the most used emojis. It’s basically an inbuilt Discord feature for most users. But if you want to dig deeper into other emoji options, a plus sign in the reaction bar can prompt you with additional options.

While the Messenger app by Meta features only five emojis for users to react with, WhatsApp’s wider selection starkly contrasts this.

Besides message updates, there are improvements in video calls-including new filters and virtual backgrounds. Users can now apply fun visual effects during the video calls from a choice of 30 options. More space for creativity and personalization has opened up for interactions during calls.

There is also the exciting feature of sharing sticker packs directly within chats. Users can create custom stickers from their selfies just by tapping on the sticker icon. While this imaginative feature is exclusive to Android users for now, compatibility with iOS is expected very soon. Those are the updates to show WhatsApp’s resolve to make messaging fast, simple, and fun for all.
