Meta is testing this feature in its beta version with the sole iPhone support- that is, this will be the way this feature works in practice, according to screenshots shared in the media.

Once this feature is activated, the users will be able to link their social media profiles to the messenger app. This update will allow the user’s contacts to open their media profiles through a single tap.

The platform shall further work on various options before its release, which may include linking to Meta’s platforms, such as Threads and Facebook. This linking feature is going to be an option; that is, a user can decide whether or not to use it. It is still in the beta phase and, hence, not yet rolled out to everyone.

The present phase of testing is being conducted on iPhones. In the future-somewhat interesting though-it is supposed to be rolled out for Android devices. Meanwhile, WhatsApp remains free of charge in both the App Store and Google Play Store. Otherwise, the beta version shall have a limited roll-out to only a few users via TestFlight-an Apple app that allows testing of apps in an unready stage so far. Meta shall likewise have limited access to feedback before pushing out this feature to all.
