When will the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series be able to utilize Apple Intelligence?

When is Apple Intelligence coming to iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 16 range?

The initial iteration of iOS 18 featuring Apple Intelligence will be designated as iOS 18.1, anticipated to be released in mid-October. While this version will not introduce Apple Intelligence to users in the UK, individuals can circumvent this limitation by adjusting their device’s location and language settings to the United States.

The forthcoming update is expected to be relatively modest in its enhancements. However, by modifying the location and language settings, users will benefit from several improvements to Siri’s comprehension capabilities.

Additionally, new writing tools will be available for text, along with notification summaries for essential applications, the Clean Up object removal feature for Photos, and functionalities for recording and transcribing phone calls. The more significant update, iOS 18.2, is set to bring Apple Intelligence to UK users, along with generative AI emoji, the Image Playground image generator, ChatGPT integration, a revamped Mail interface, and enhanced notification management, with a potential release by late November or December.

Following this, iOS 18.3 is expected in January as a maintenance update, leading to the major iOS 18.4 release in March 2025, which will introduce substantial new features for Siri. Some of these features may also be considered for inclusion in iOS 18.3, although specific details remain undisclosed.

Numerous enhancements are being introduced; however, the wait is considerable. Apple is essentially marketing the iPhone 16 by highlighting features that, in certain instances, will not be available for another six months. It is uncertain how this strategy will be received by purchasers of the iPhone 16, as some of them may find themselves quite disheartened by the lack of Apple Intelligence.
