“Hey Siri, when will Vision Pro get Apple Intelligence?” Indeed, but not just yet.

“Hey Siri, will Apple Intelligence come to Vision Pro?” Yes, but not yet…

Apple recently declared its version of AI, Apple Intelligence, at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). The company only promised it for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, without mentioning Apple Watch or Vision Pro.

While the Apple Watch may not benefit much from AI, Vision Pro would, especially in its drive to be a spatial computer. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has said that Apple is “actively working” on bringing Apple Intelligence features to Vision Pro, but it won’t happen this year.

If Vision Pro is going to be a proper productivity tool, the AI tools pledged by Apple Intelligence, such as Writing Tools, Priority Messages in Mail, using natural language to search Photos, and the new Siri, would all make sense in Vision Pro. If Apple Intelligence was an imminent addition to the headset, it would have listed it alongside Mac, iPad, and iPhone in June.

Apple Vision Pro will be available in the UK from 12 July for £3,499. The headset is already known in the US, and Gurman doesn’t detail whether Apple Intelligence will come on US devices first when it is ready for Vision Pro. Apple Intelligence will arrive later this year for Mac, iPhone, and iPad, and it will require devices running Apple’s A17 Pro chipset or Apple Silicon M series chips.
